Court Ordered Volunteering

Dare to Care Food Bank offers opportunities for individuals to volunteer and fulfill court-appointed service hours. All court-ordered volunteers must be approved by the Volunteer Coordinator prior to signing up for a volunteer opportunity. No hours prior to being approved will count toward needed verification documents.

Volunteers who have committed a violent, sexual, or theft related offense will not be approved.

Where do I start?

To be approved, court-ordered volunteers must provide the Volunteer Coordinator with the following documents before their first scheduled volunteer shift:

  1. The original ticket or court paperwork showing the reason for their court ordered hours, as well as the total number of hours required.
  2. A completed volunteer waiver.
  3. A completed court ordered volunteer agreement.

Interested volunteers can download the volunteer waiver and court ordered volunteer agreement using the links above, fill them out, and return the completed forms to anna.foshee@daretocare.org, along with a copy of the original ticket or court paperwork showing the charge and required number of hours. A scan or a photo of the original ticket/court paperwork are both acceptable, as long as the charge and required number of hours are both clearly visible.

Need a letter verifying your completed service hours?

Please notify the Volunteer Coordinator at anna.foshee@daretocare.org a minimum of 3 days before you need your letter to ensure enough time to get everything completed.
