No food prep or special credentials needed at this time. Just feel healthy and ready to help out!
This volunteer opportunity and volunteer attendance are crucial to operations and feeding kids for the summer. If you are unable to make a volunteer shift, please unregister in Galaxy Digital, or let Director of Volunteer Engagement know ASAP (ron@daretocare.org / 502-736-9963). One no-show without notification will result in removal from any other volunteer shifts.
Join us as we prepare to distribute food from our brand new community kitchen. This food is used for our Kid's Cafe program and some other pilots Dare to Care is launching.
Volunteer duties include:
- packing food into individual boxes
- sealing freshly prepared food into trays on our tray line (we'll teach you the Oliver Speedseal machine)
- other special kitchen duties
Be a part of a volunteer opportunity at Dare to Care's newest facility!
REQUIREMENTS:
- Closed toe shoes
- Hat or other hair covering
- SEE UPDATED MASK POLICY BELOW
- Volunteers age 14 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult; 16 years old and older do not need an adult
We will provide gloves. There are lockers onsite, but you must bring your own lock. Note that this opportunity does involve standing for a large portion of the volunteer shift.
Please self-check your temperature before you arrive and stay home if you are running a high fever.
Enter at "Welcome" door on S 28th Street - a placard with a phone number to call for entry is posted.
