Dare to Care is distributing food to neighbors in need in response to the power outages and storm damage from this weekend. While we will bring the food onsite, we'll need help distributing the food boxes to each guest.
Our Mobile Pantry program provides food to our neighbors in need every day. Food from the Dare to Care warehouse is taken out in our 13-county service area and distributed with the help of volunteers. On the 4th Saturday of the month, Dare to Care will operate a Mobile Pantry from our Main Distribution Center warehouse. We will set up in the back parking lot of our building and run the program as a drive-through.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to:
- help distribute food into guest's vehicles as they come through the "drive through"
- help consolidate large amounts of produce into smaller bags
- break down boxes and collect plastic for recycling
- help register clients interested for senior commodities
This opportunity will last until we run out of food--expect 2 hours but no longer than 3 hours. NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER WILL BE HOLIDAY DISTRIBUTIONS OF 4 HOURS (9A - 1P). Closed-toe shoes are required.
