DISASTER RELIEF Help distribute food at our pop up mobile pantry at our Community Kitchen

Expired

Description

Dare to Care is hosting an emergency pop-up food distribution to neighbors in the Parkland neighborhood in response to the severe storm and tornado damage that took place last week.

Our Mobile Pantry program provides food to our neighbors in need every day. Food from the Dare to Care warehouse is taken out in our 13-county service area and distributed with the help of volunteers. We will set up in the back parking lot of our building and run the program as a drive-through.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to:

  • help distribute food into guest's vehicles as they come through the "drive through"
  • help consolidate large amounts of produce into smaller bags
  • break down boxes and collect plastic for recycling
  • help register clients interested for senior commodities

This opportunity will last until we run out of food -- expect 2 hours but no longer than 3 hours. Closed-toe shoes are required.

UPDATE: Masks are currently optional for Dare to Care volunteer activities. IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOME FEELS ILL OR IS QUARANTINED FOR HEALTH REASONS, PLEASE STAY HOME.
