Exodus Family Ministries, located in Southwest Louisville, is seeking volunteers to assist with our food pantry in the following ways;
Pickup/Delivery Drivers- Volunteers would be placed on a rotation to pick up food from Dare to Care on Fern Valley Rd and delivery it to our pantry on Bethany Lane. Our pickups can fluctuate although they are generally on Friday’s between 7:30am and 8:30am. This would require someone that could lift upwards of 40lbs and that has access to a vehicle that could easy hold 400-500lbs of food. Once the food is picked up from Dare to Care, the volunteer would meet other volunteers at the food pantry who would help get the food unloaded and put in the proper locations.
Food Box Delivery Drivers- This role is becoming a very important part of our ministry. We currently help deliver food boxes to people throughout all of Louisville that do not have the means to get to a local food pantry. As a volunteer, we would put you on a rotation to do porch drop-offs to homes around the Louisville area. We would not require or encourage you to go into any home. You would simply place the box in a secure location near the door and call the client after you return to your car. This would require a vehicle that could hold up to 3 to 4 food boxes at a time with the boxes weighing between 20 – 30 lbs a piece. This can be done at any time (within reason) throughout the day of your rotation.
Our volunteers are very important to us and allow us the capability to reach those in need throughout our community.
