Join us as we prepare summer meals for kids. Dare to Care will need to produce over 10,600 meals each week for the Kid's Cafe program. No need to be a chef or master in the kitchen--we'll teach you everything!
This volunteer opportunity and volunteer attendance are crucial to operations and feeding kids for the summer. If you are unable to make a volunteer shift, please unregister in Galaxy Digital, or let Director of Volunteer Engagement know ASAP (ron@daretocare.org / 502-736-9963). One no-show without notification will result in removal from any other volunteer shifts.
Volunteer duties include:
- making sandwiches
- vegetable and fruit prep
- sealing freshly prepared food into trays on our tray line (we'll teach you how to use our Oliver Speedseal machine)
- other special kitchen duties
Be a part of a volunteer opportunity at Dare to Care's newest facility!
REQUIREMENTS:
- closed toe shoes
- hat or other hair covering
- SEE UPDATED MASK POLICY BELOW
- Volunteers age 15 must be accompanied by an adult; 16 years old and older do not need an adult
We will provide gloves and require proper handwashing. There are lockers onsite, but you must bring your own lock. Note that this opportunity does involve standing for a large portion of the volunteer shift.
Please self-check your temperature before you arrive and stay home if you are running a high fever.
