Dare to Care was the recipient of 5,000 pounds of pork trim from Marksbury Farms and Feeding Kentucky. This donation will need to be turned into sausage to help us feed families. Join us for this special project. No need to be a chef or master in the kitchen--we'll teach you everything!
This volunteer opportunity and volunteer attendance are crucial to operations and feeding our clients. If you are unable to make a volunteer shift, please unregister in Galaxy Digital, or let Director of Volunteer Engagement know ASAP (elaine@daretocare.org / 502-736-9963). One no-show without notification will result in removal from any future volunteer shifts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- closed toe shoes
- hat or other hair covering
- masks are required for volunteers
- Volunteers age 15 must be accompanied by an adult; 16 years old and older do not need an adult
We will provide gloves and require proper handwashing. There are lockers onsite to store your personal belongings, but you must bring your own lock. Note that this opportunity does involve standing for a large portion of the volunteer shift.
