Middletown Christian Church Volunteer Day in Community Kitchen  Get Connected Icon

Description

Welcome Middletown Christian Church!

We are thrilled to have you join us at our new Community Kitchen in the Parkland neighborhood. We rely on the help of volunteers at this site to help prepare meals to feed children, seniors, and our community as a whole. The best part is--we'll teach you everything. No need to be a chef!

Volunteer duties may include:

  • making sandwiches and other food
  • vegetable and fruit prep
  • sealing freshly prepared food into trays on our tray line (we'll teach you how to use our Oliver Speedseal machine)
  • other special kitchen duties

REQUIREMENTS:

  • closed toe shoes
  • hat or other hair covering
  • Volunteers age 15 must be accompanied by an adult; 16 years old and older do not need an adult

We will provide gloves and require proper handwashing. There are lockers onsite, but you must bring your own lock. Note that this opportunity does involve standing for a large portion of the volunteer shift.

Please self-check your temperature before you arrive and stay home if you are running a high fever.

Enter at "Welcome" door on S 28th Street - just ring the doorbell!

UPDATE: Masks/face coverings are required--IF YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOME FEELS ILL OR IS QUARANTINED FOR HEALTH REASONS, PLEASE STAY HOME.
